About the journal

The Annual of the Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research (Annual of ISPJR) has been published since 1975, embedding a long tradition of publishing original scientific papers, review papers, professional papers, and book reviews in the field of social sciences and humanities, by domestic and foreign scholars.

Since 2013, the Annual of ISPJR has been published as an interdisciplinary international scientific journal with an International Editorial Board, adhering to open access standards and double-blind peer-review process by two reviewers.

The frequency of publication of the Annual is once a year which represents a stable opportunity for affirmation of the accepted research papers of authors from Macedonia, the region and beyond. Additionally, the Annual has occasional special issues, with a guest editor and a specific theme, including special issues resulting from research projects implemented at ISPJR, leading to a thematically focused issue.

 

Aims and scope of the Annual of ISPJR

The Annual provides an inclusive intellectual platform for researchers, scholars, and practitioners to examine complex social phenomena, legal systems, communication processes and media environments, organizational dynamics and management practices, political structures, and human behavior in local, regional and global contexts. By fostering dialogue across disciplinary boundaries, the journal aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of contemporary societal challenges and to support pure research, evidence-based policy, ethical reflection, and social innovation.

The journal’s primary aim is to publish high-quality research, theoretical analyses, and critical reviews that offer significant contributions to knowledge in the following key areas:

  • Social sciences and social theory, social structures
  • Social policy, education and community development
  • Law, especially in the area of human rights and public law
  • Comparative research on legal and political systems, and institutional analysis
  • Political science, public policy, and governance
  • International relations and global affairs
  • Security and peace studies
  • Communication studies and communicative processes
  • Media studies, media systems, and public discourse
  • Humanities, including history, linguistics, literature, and cultural studies
  • Philosophy, ethics, and social and political thought
  • Psychology, social, political and organizational psychology and collective and individual human behavior
  • Economic policy, economics and socio-economic development
  • Management, leadership, and human resource management
  • Organizational behavior and workplace studies
  • Interdisciplinary and comparative studies across the social sciences and humanities

 

The Annual encourages theoretical and empirical works in each scientific field, as well as interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches that integrate perspectives from multiple fields to address issues such as, but not limited to, governance, equality, justice, communication, cultural change, human development, economic transformation, migration, climate change, technological advancement, organizational dynamics, and other related contemporary societal dimensions and challenges. Accordingly, empirical studies, comparative analyses, and case-based research that address real-world challenges are strongly encouraged. Submissions that bridge theory and practice, or that connect empirical findings with normative or philosophical inquiry, are particularly welcomed.

The journal is open to qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research, as well as conceptual and methodological innovations. It values ethical research practices, academic integrity, and clarity of argumentation. By promoting international perspectives and diverse scholarly voices, the journal aims to serve as a global forum for critical inquiry and constructive debate, contributing to the advancement and proliferation of knowledge.

The permeability and accessibility of researchers’ work is ensured by the assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs).

The Annual of ISPJR is publishing online under Open Access and it is licensed in “Creative Commons.
